A grand programme on 8th NATIONAL UNANI DAY

A grand programme on 8th NATIONAL UNANI DAY was organised by the AYUSH department (state of Karnataka) at Bangaluru on dated 05/03/24. In this event, various students were felicitated for competitions and academic excellence.
It’s a pleasure to announce that students of Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital, Kalaburagi, Karnataka, got first prize in reel making competition for Unani day, as well as topper students of our college were also felicitated by the Department of AYUSH (state of Karnataka).

World Unani Day 2024

Department of Generally Surgery( Ilmul-Jarahat) & Pharmacology ( Ilmul- Advia) , Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, organized workshop cum demonstration on dated 12th & 13th Of February 2024 for the celebration of “ World Unani Day” on the occasion of Birth anniversary of Hakeem Ajmal Khan. The programme was graced by Chief guest Dr. Girija S.U District AYUSH Officer Kalaburagi & Guest of Honor Dr. Ahmed Khan Associate Professor Dept.of General Surgery Faculty of Medicine Sciences KBN University Kalaburagi.This workshop was guided and supervised by Prof and HoD Dr. Swaleha Khan Dept of Ilmul-Jarahat,& Ilmul-advia Department organised Demonstration of Single drugs and their usage as Home remedies under the theme “ Her Ghar Unani “ Under the supervision of Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar (Principal & Director) Dr.Hidayat Khan Mehdi (Asst.Prof) Dr. Qamrul Islam Usmani (Asst. Prof) by the students of 2 year BUMS which was followed by Models and specimens on different topics in General Surgery were presented by the students of Final year. All teaching staff of IUMCH were present in the event to encourage students. The Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar and President IREACT/IUMCH Dr.Qamaruzzaman Inamdar appreciated this informative workshop.The programme ended with most appreciating and encouraging words of chief guest Dr. Girija S.U & guest of Honor Dr. Ahmed Khan. The events were organised by organising committee members Professor Farooque Ali and Dr. Shameedbi Reshmi Dept of Amraze Jild was Tazeeniyat.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Expo Jan – 2024

This Expo was Organised by the Final Year Students 2019-20 batch in the Seminar Hall of IUMCH, Kalaburagi.
Under the Supervision of Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar, Director & Principal, IUMCH. Under the Guidance of Dr. Zakera Begum, Associate Professor and Dr. Kahkashan Baig, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Amraze Niswan wa Qabalat, IUMCH, Kalaburagi.

In this Cervical Cancer Awareness Expo, All the final year Students actively participated in the Poster Presentations and model presentations and explained in detail about the female Genital tract it’s pubertal changes, Hormonal influence, Risk factors, pathophysiology, screening guidelines, early detection, management and HPV vaccine.

All the Teaching staff participated in this Knowledgeable Cervical Cancer Awareness Expo to encourage the Students for their efforts.

All the Students of IUMCH also participated in this Programme.

The Teachers of Department of Amraze Niswan wa Qabalat is very much thankful to the Management of IUMCH, Kalaburagi for giving this Opportunity.

Induction Program

Today, on 23/11/2023, an induction program was conducted at Inamadar Unani Medical College and Hospital. The esteemed Director and Principal, Dr. Nishath Afreen Inamadar, welcomed all first-year BUMS students.Dr. Fahad Basha provided comprehensive insights into the BUMS profession and its subjects. Following that, Dr. Umme Sama elaborated on the first-year staff and their respective subject areas.Dr. Khan Nazia efficiently organized the essential arrangements for this induction program event. Finally, Dr. Abdul Malik expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants through a gracious vote of thanks.

A grand felicitation programme and one day seminar on the topic ‘what after BUMS’ was organised by International Unani Forum (IUF) at Prayagraj, UP

A grand felicitation programme and one day seminar on the topic ‘what after BUMS’ was organised by International Unani Forum (IUF) at Prayagraj, UP, on dated 26/11/23. The event of felicitation was arranged for the participants and winners of International Unani Quest. It was a big day for Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH) as our college was on top position with 6 of our students came into top 10 ranks and one of our students got 1st rank in the quest. Our college also got prize for most number of participation in the quest. The event was blessed with the presence of the chief guest Honourable Minister of AYUSH, Govt. of UP, Dr. Daya Shankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’.
The whole programme at Prayagraj was on hybrid mode. IUMCH was connected to the event virtually while our Director/Principal Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar was physically present in the event at Prayagraj to receive the awards with the hands of honourable chief guest. A virtually connected programme was also arranged at IUMCH, Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on a grand level under the guidance of President (IREACT) Dr. Qamaruzzaman Inamdar. In the programme of IUMCH, winning students and their parents were felicitated.

Celebrating 77th Independence Day

Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka. Celebrated 77th Independence Day, The programme was graced by our beloved president Dr. Qamaruzzama Hussain Inamdar by hoisting the national flag . This program was guided and supervised by Dr . Nishat Afreen Inamdar Director and Dr. Shameedbi Reshmi Assistant Professor Dept. Amraz-e-jild-wa-tazeeniyat, which was followed by the line up of events such as multilingual, enthusiastic, informative speeches and Tarana were delivered by the students of IUMCH. All teaching, non-teaching staff and students of IUMCH were present in the event to celebrate the national festival and show the patriotism towards our nation. The President IREACT/IUMCH and Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar appreciated this program . The programme ended with most appreciating and encouraging speech of President sir IUMCH/IREACT. The program was ended with the distribution of snacks to the staffs and students of IUMCH Kalaburagi.

International yoga day

Inamdar Unani Medical college and hospital, Gulbarga ,Karnataka  celebrated International Yoga Day on 21/06/2023 in the conference hall of college where about  100 participants were  present.

The program organized by the college management. It was started by National Anthem, after that Dr. Mohammad Danish Assistant Professor Dept. of Moalajat delivered welcome speech after the completion of this speech Dr. Hidayat Khan Assistant Professor Dept. of Ilmul-Advia delivered a brief lecture on the history and importance of Yoga and at last phase Dr. Mohammad Usama Assistant Professor Dept. of Ilaj-Bit-Tadbeer  discuss about the five type of Yoga Asanas viz, Tadasana, Prasarita Padottanasana, Balasana, Bitilasana and Ardha Halasana. Along with oral description of position of Yoga practically demonstrated all the Asanas by the two students of the BUMS First Profession of IUMCH under the direction of Dr. Mohammad Usama .

Demosntation of Medicinal Plants in Herbal Garden of IUMCH

In this Demonstration Class, the Identification & Morphology of Various Medicinal Plants Like, Dhatura (Datura Stramonium), Gudhal (Hibiscus rosasinesis), Asgandh (Withania somnifera) and Madaar (Calotrpois procera) were demonstrated & explained to the Students of 2nd Year Bums of INAMDAR UNANI MEDICAL COLLEGE under the Supervision of Dr. Qamrul Islam Usmani (MD) – ILMUL ADVIA, Asst. Professor & Dr. Hidayath Khan Mehdi (MD) – ILMUL ADVIA, Asst. Professor, Department of ILMUL ADVIA. IUMCH, Kalaburagi.

Induction program for BUMS 1st prof (new batch 2022-2023)

An induction program for BUMS 1st professional (new batch 2022-23) was organized at the auditorium of Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on dated 20/02/2023.
This successful program was inaugurated and conducted under the guidance of the director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar.
The teachers of first professional BUMS Dr. H. M. A. Rasheed, Dr. Umme Sama Khair, Dr. Nazia Zubair, Dr. Muzeeb Shaik, Dr. Abdul Malik, Dr. S. M. Fahad Basha, Maulana Tauseef Ahmed and Maulana Javed Akhtar briefly introduced their subjects and syllabus. Students also actively participated in the program and introduced themselves very warmly. It was an interacting and encouraging session for all the new comer students. Dr. N. Imtiyazi (Hospital Incharge IUMCH) and Dr. Saleem Shaikh (Syllabus Incharge IUMCH) were also present in the program. Dr. Furquan Ameen (Academic Incharge IUMCH) gave a brief concluding remark and explained all the rules and regulations of college.

3 Days Education Trip

Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, organized a three days educational trip for BUMS 1st Prof. students to Govt. Nizamia Tibbi College, Hyderabad from 13/02/23 to 15/02/23, under supervision of Dr. Saleem Shaikh (Associate Professor), Dr.Sama Khair(Associate Professor) and Dr. Nazia Khan(Associate Professor).
On DAY 1:
Students did Departmental visit of Nizamia Tibbi College, where they interacted with Principal, teachers, PG scholars and students.
On Day 2:
Students attended exibition conducted by Dept. of PSM under guidance of Prof.and HOD Dr. Maqbool Hussain sir, in which PG scholars and students had given presentation on various topics with charts and projects and it was very informative.
On Day 3:
On Last day of trip students of IUMCH visited Hospital building of Nizamia Tibbi College, where they interacted with teachers, hospital staff, PG scholars, Interns and many patients. They visited OPD, IPD, Pharmacy, OT, maternity and paediatric wards, also seen live demonstration of cupping therapy, massage, Fasd, chromo therapy etc. It was truly enlightening and great educational experience. They had also opportunity to visit some famous historical places nearby such as Salar Jung Museum, Chowmahalla place, and Golconda Fort etc.

World Unani Day

Inamdar Unani medical College and hospital Gulbarga Karnataka has celebrated World Unani day to mark the birth anniversary of Hakeem Ajmal Khan on 11th February 2023. The Program was presided by the President IREACT/IUMCH Dr. Qamruzzaman Husain Inamdar under the patronage of Director IUMCH, Dr. Nishat Afreen. The program was graced by the presence of Qazi Rizwan Sahab (Member, SDI Umeed Foundation) and Dr. Chandrashekhar Kuppi (Senate member, RGUHS).
Program was hosted by Dr. Fatima Khan, Asst. Prof. IUMCH with a short speech about Hkm. Ajmal Khan and the evolution of Unani system in India. Various departments were represented by the students with a lot of efforts and enthusiasm by the help of charts, posters and models as a part of the occasion. The program ended with a food fair where students made some mouthwatering delicacies.

World Unani Day

Inamdar Unani medical College and hospital Gulbarga Karnataka has celebrated Unani day to mark the birth anniversary of Hakeem Ajmal Khan on 11th February 2023. The theme of this year Unani day was “Unani Medicine for Public health”. The two day program was presided by the President IREACT/IUMCH Dr. Qamruzzaman Husain Inamdar under the patronage of Director IUMCH, Dr. Nishat Afreen. The celebration started on 10th February 2023 with short speech on “History and origin of Unani Medicine in India” delivered by Dr. Fatima Khan, (Asst. Prof., Dept. Of Regeminal therapy). This program was chaired by one of the most eminent physician of Gulbarga, Dr. Salman Patel, (Managing director, Sunrise Hospital, Gulbarga), Dr. Sheik Bava, (Chairman, TAWAM Group & president, Karnataka Cultural foundation) and Dr. Mohd. Ibrahim
(Chairman, Hindustan Builders, Mangalore).
The program was hosted by Dr. Shameedbi Reshmi (Asst. Prof. Dept. of Dermatology) and a short presentation was given by Dr. Hidayat khan (Asst. Prof., Dept. of Ilmul Advia) on the topic “Contribution of Sharifi Family in the promotion of Unani Medicine”. Dr. Filza Eqbal (Asst. Prof. Dept. of PSM) took over as host for further continuation of the program which included prize distribution ceremony. Students who won prizes in various categories throughout the year were awarded with trophies, medals and certificate. The program ended with the lectures by the chief guest who enlightened the students with their immense knowledge of healthcare system and the global opportunities of AYUSH. Vote of Thanks was presented by the president IREACT/IUMCH Dr. Qamaruzzaman Husain Inamdar.

World Cancer Day

“World Cancer Day” was observed at Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on dated 04/02/2023. This year’s theme marked the second year of the campaign “close the care gap” which is about understanding the inequities in cancer care and taking necessary actions to make progress in handling them. On this occasion, renowned oncosurgeon of Kalaburagi Dr. Gururaj Deshpande Sir (MS, MCh) was present as the chief guest. The programme was presided by the President IREACT/IUMCH Dr. Qamaruzzaman Hussain Inamdar.

Educational visit for the teaching staff

Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, organized an educational visit for the teaching staff of IUMCH to Organic Herbal Farm and Botanical Garden, Hagarga, on dated 02/02/23. Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar and Director of Pharmacy college Mrs. Sameena Shaikh were also present in this trip along with the teaching staff of IUMCH.
It was a very informative educational visit. Various herbal medicinal plants and trees were explored. Organic farming, cultivation of plants, their method of collection, preservation and product packaging etc were thoroughly explained by the farm authorities.
Dr. Qamar ul Islam (Asst. Prof. Dept. of Advia, IUMCH) also explained morphology and properties of various medicinal plants. It was a nice experience.

Career Guidance Program

Inamdar Unani Medical College and hospital, Gulbarga, Karnataka, organized a career guidance program for BUMS final year students and interns on dated 21/01/2023. The programme was successfully conducted by Dr. Qamarul Islam Usmani, (Asst. Prof. Dept of Ilmul Advia), Dr. Seemab Alam (Asst. Prof. Dept. of Moalajat), Dr. Shameedbi Reshmi (Asst. Prof., Dept of Amraz-e-Jild wa Taziniyat).
The students were given guidance about the various career options after BUMS and how to prepare for the PG entrance examination.
An interactive session at the end of the program helped the students clear their doubts about prepration methodology for PG entrance exam. Lastly, Dr. Furquan Ameen (Academic Incharge/Associate Prof., Dept. of IBT) concluded the program with his inspiring words.

Medical Camp at Govt. Urdu Primary School, Sonia Gandhi Colony

Inamdar Unani Medical College & Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, organized a free medical camp at Govt. Urdu Primary School, Sonia Gandhi Colony, Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on dated 15/01/23. Around 100 patients took the benefit of this camp. Complete medical health check up was carried out of every patient by the team of doctors and interns from IUMCH as well as free Unani medicines were also distributed in the camp. Apart from general diseases, this camp was also focused on joint disorders specially arthritis therefore massage and dry cupping procedures of Ilaj-bit-tadbeer (Regiminal Therapy) were provided to patients totally free of cost. Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar and the President IREACT Dr. Qamaruzzaman Hussain Inamdar appreciated the work done by team IUMCH.

Annual Day Felicitation Programme

Annual Day Felicitation programme was organized by Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, on dated 31/12/22 at IUMCH auditorium. In this event, various IUMCH teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students were felicitated by the management for their contributions in academic, clinical, cultural & sports activities. The programme held under the supervision of Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar while Dr. N. Imtiyazi and Dr. Fatima Khan were hosting it as anchors. On this occasion, Mr. Rahul Tukaram Pandve (IAS, MD of Gescom) and Dr. Farooq Ahmad Manur (MS, founder & director of Manur hospital) were present as chief guest & guest of honour respectively. Both of them gave valuable and encouraging speeches. The programme concluded with the dynamic speech and vote of thanks given by President IREACT/IUMCH Dr. Qamaruzzaman Hussain Inamdar.

Workshop on the topic “From Source Water To Drinking Water”

Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (Preventive & Community Medicine), Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital (IUMCH), Kalaburagi, Karnataka, organized a workshop on the topic “From Source Water To Drinking Water” on dated 23/12/22. This workshop was guided and supervised by Dr. N. Imtiyazi (Associate Prof., dept. of TST/PCM, IUMCH). A model of Slow Sand Filteration was presented to the department by students of 2nd year. Dr. N. Imtiyazi and few students gave detailed informative presentation regarding the model. Various aspects of the workshop topic such as water sources, types, purification, diseases etc were also presented by the students. Other teachers of IUMCH were also present in the event to encourage students. The Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar and President IREACT/IUMCH Dr.Qamaruzzaman Inamdar appreciated this informative workshop.

Scientific exhibition on Gynaecology & Obstetrics (All about women’s Health)

Department of Amraze Niswan wa Qabalat (Gynaecology & Obstetrics), Inamdar unani medical college and Hospital, Kalaburagi, Karnataka organised a scientific exhibition on Gynaecology & Obstetrics (All about women’s Health) on 22/12/22 under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Kahkashan Baig, Assistant professor, Dept. Amraze Niswan wa Qabalat, IUMCH. The event became successful with the presence of Dr. Bushra Asif (MBBS, DGO, Managing Director of Bushra Maternity Hospital, Kalaburagi) as Chief guest. Students presented very beautiful and informative models in the exhibition. The Director IUMCH Dr. Nishat Afreen and President IUMCH Dr. Qamaruzzaman Inamdar appreciated this grand exhibition.

Essential Laboratory Skills

The Department of MAHIYATUL AMRAZ, INAMDAR UNANI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL, has conducted a one day workshop on “Essential Laboratory Skills” under supervision of Dr. Saleem Shaikh(Associate professor in Mahiyatul Amraz) and Mrs. Aliya Parveen ( Lab Technician) on 22/12/2022.
The objective of this workshop was to expertise the students with routine blood investigations and also intended to familiarise the students with the importance of investigation in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
2nd year students have also performed some investigations such as Widal Test, Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, Random Blood Sugar, Bleeding Time, Blood Grouping, Haemoglobin concentration etc.
The President of IREACT/IUMCH, Dr. Qamruzzaman Inamdar and Director of IUMCH, Dr. Nishat Afreen Inamdar and Faculty members of IUMCH have appreciated this workshop.

A Workshop was organized on dated 14/12/22 at 10:00 am onwards by the department of Ilaj-bit-tadbeer (IBT).

The event successfully took place under the guidance of Dr. Furquan Ameen (Asso. Prof. IBT) & Dr. Fatima Khan (Asst. Prof. IBT).

Demonstrations of various therapies were conducted by the staff of IBT in the hospital as a part of workshop.
While in the college department, 3 projects were submitted by the students. The projects were in the form of models:

1. Changes of Osteoarthritis
2. Finger ladder exerciser
3. Foot & ankle joint
   A group discussion by students was also arranged on these projects. The workshop was very informative for the students on both the aspects academic as well as clinical.

World AIDS Day was observed on 1st December 2022

World AIDS Day was observed on 1st December 2022 at Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital Kalaburgi, Karnataka.
On this occasion, various aspects of the disease AIDS, its clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and prevention were discussed thoroughly.
The programme was organized under the guidence of Dr.N.Imtiyazi. The event concluded successfully in the presence of H.O.D (TST) Dr.Mohammed Saleem.

A workshop is conducted in Tashreehul Badan department under guidance of Professor Dr.AzmathRasool(HOD), Dr.Khan Nazia zubair(associate professor),Dr.Kausar Fatima(assistant professor) on 25/11/2022. Dr Gazala(assistant professor KBN Medical college) is invited as a guest. All students of 1st professional participated well.

Celebrating Rashtriya Poshan Maah

“Rashtriya Poshan Maah” was celebrated at Inamdar Unani Medical college & Hospital , kalaburagi, karnataka, from 1st September to 30th September. On this occasion “A Food Competition on Balance diet” was organized by Dr.N.Imtiyazi Associates Professor, Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib, IUMCH, Kalaburagi, on dated 24/09/22. All the 2nd year students actively participated in this event.

Students prepared various healthy dishes. The competition’s judges were from teaching staff of IUMCH Dr.Furquan Ameen, Dr.Shaik Muzeeb and Dr.Nazia Zubair. The programme concluded successfully by encouraging speeches of teachers. The event was appreciated by The Director IUMCH Dr.Nishat Afreen Inamdar and The President IREACT Dr.Qamaruzzaman Inamdar.

Celebration National Doctor’s Day on 1st July 2022

Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital celebrated National Doctor’s Day on 1st July 2022. The programme was graced by the chief guests Dr. Qamruzamman- President Inamdar Unani Medical College and Hospital, Advocate Abdul Jabbar Gola, and Mohd. Ismail Karigar. Short speeches were delivered by Dr. Fatima Khan, Dr. N. Imtiyazi followed by en-lighting words of the Honorable President and Chief Guest Abdul Jabbar.

International Yoga Day was celebrated at Inamdar Unani Medical College, Kalaburagi on 21 June 2022.
130 students from all years of BUMS participated and performed basic asanas of Yoga.

The event became memorable by the presence of chief guest Dr.A.S.Rudrawadi (Civil Surgeon, GIMS) and guest of honour Dr.Satish Kumar Patil (Vice Principal, SNI Dental College). This program was presided by Dr.Qamruzzan H. Inamdar (President IREACT) while it was supervised by The Director IUMCH Dr.Nishat A. Inamdar and Principal IUMCH Dr.M.Q.Farooqui. On the occasion, various speeches were given by chief guest, guest of honour, President IREACT, Principal IUMCH and Deputy Superintendent of Hospital. Some of the teaching staff also presented beautiful ppt presentations. The event was managed smoothly by the team of teachers including Dr.N.Imtiyazi, Dr.Filza Iqbal and Dr.Fatima Khan. All the aspects and scopes of Unani System of Medicine were discussed in the program.
